Christopher Clarke is a skilled artist and printer.  The fine drawing and expert printing evident in all of his work underscore his commitment to the traditions and the beauty of black and white prints.  Clarke was trained by master printers Orlando Condeso and John Christian Erickson while working at the Vinalhaven Press in Vinalhaven, Maine, a small island in the Penobscot Bay.   In 2006 he established the Engine House Press, a printmaking co-op, in Vinalhaven; he is its master printer and director.  Clarke has printed with and editioned works by William Kentridge and Robert Indiana, among others.
